North Meadow is surrounded by the River Thames to the south and the River Churn to the North. Usually the river levels rise over the winter months bursting their banks and flooding North Meadow. This is quite normal for the floodplain and one of the features which creates this species rich for lowland hay meadow habitat. The Environment Agency has monitoring stations close to North Meadow which provide river level and rainfall data which follows.
The Environment Agency has a rainfall Tipping Bucket Station at South Cerney which provides the data for this chart.
Seasonal rainfall (rainfall since mid September) is +26 % compared to 10 year average.
This page uses Environment Agency flood and river level data from the real-time data API (Beta).
